Punk which is Young Thug’s sophomore solo album, features a punk rock influence. Thugger finally released Punk on Friday (Oct. 15) after a brief delay.
There are 20 songs on the album, which was first announced during the rapper’s appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Series this past summer.
A star-studded lineup of artists including J. Cole, Travis Scott, Juice Wrld, Mac Miller and Future also appear on the album.
In advance of the album’s release, Thug released his track “Tick Tock,” and he and his YSL artist and protégé Gunna smashed a Rolls-Royce in front of Lyft drivers.
Slime Language 2 by Young Thug’s label dropped on April 16 and has 23 tracks and bars from Drake, Travis Scott, Future, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, and Yung Bleu, as well as cameos by Gunna’s Young Stoner Life Records artists like Lil Duke, Yak Gotti, Strick, and Yung Kayo.
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list a week after it was released on April 25th, selling 113,000 equivalent album units, including 1,000 copies of the album itself.
At the time of its release, Slime Language had 40,000 equivalent album sales and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 list.
