DeJ Loaf broke through with the DDS-produced “Try Me,” and she’s still a perfect match for the Detroit-based beatmaker.
She start her new track, “I Got Problems” by looking back at her success– “you thought ‘Try Me’ was the only song i had, huh?,” bragging about her consistency while using Juvenile’s immortal “Ha” flow. Her recent debut EP,#AndSeeThatsTheThing, succeeded by capturing the mood of “Try Me” throughout its 6 tracks, without any of them sounding like a rewrite. In other words, she has a sound of her own, something that’s increasingly rare in the industry, and “I Got Problems” sees her further pursuing that lane.
