Last time we checked in with the Ethiopian-American rapper Siimba Liives Long, he was gallivanting across the African savanna with a pride of lions. Earlier this week, he returned to the fold with his new release “Info-Red.”

“This specific song is basically capturing an encounter with a person who brought a positive energy in my life at a time when I was involved in a lot of negativity,” Siimba told FADER. “It means a lot to me, because anyone who has been involved in things such as hustling or violence always has a person who tries to be a positive influence on them. Even if we don’t always listen, we do remember their words, and typically they hold a place in our minds/hearts.”
