We have decided to curate some of the throwback songs that rocked the music industry way-back as far as 5 years ago.
Throwback songs are some of the most melodious songs because they remind us so much of important events or moments, and Waploaded would be bringing you a list of these type of songs weekly. So, after consuming Week 20's list, kindly tell us in the comments the ones you 'vibed' with the most.
1. 2Face (2Baba) - African Queen
2Face's African queen was released 2004, it more than an anthem, across the globe, earning 2Baba several recognition and still trending till date.
2. Terry G - Free Madness
2009 was a Free Madness year, youths, parents and everyone was dancing to the Ginger Your Swagger master, Terry G's Rhythm, even while the buzz of the song seemed to have went low, but the song actually took the year into a dancing mode.
3. Wizkid - Holla At Your Boy
One of the most populous song in Wizkid's Superstar album was Holla at Your boy. The song released in 2011 saw the birth of the "new kid in the block (wizkid)", both the song and Wizkid has been on the radar.
4. Bracket - Yori Yori
Bracket are a Nigerian afropop and R&B music duo composed of Obumneme Ali a.k.a. "Smash" and Nwachukwu Ozioko a.k.a. "Vast".
Yori Yori which was released in 2009 was virtually everywhere, every bar, every household, every school, every person could vibe to Yori Yori, as it was a very melodious sound.
5. Nigga Raw - Obodo
Nigga Raw, Now Mr. Raw had one of the best rap songs in Nigeria at about the year 2007. Obodo was too hot, and it had one of the comedy rave of the moment "Klint D Drunk" in the feature
6. Ice Prince - Oleku ft. Brymo
2010 Oleku was released, a fusion of Rap and melodious tune which features RnB master, Brymo.
Ice Prince rose to stardom after this song, and still currently in rise.
7. Davido - Gobe
Davido, popularly called Baddest, the Chairman of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide) released Dami Duro and came to limelight, shortly after that, in 2013 he released Gobe, which we think was more of an anthem.
8. Iyanya - Kukere
Kukere was an anthem too, released by Iyanya, an Ex Triple MG lead act, which currently houses Tekno and others.
Since the release and that of 'Your Waist', Iyanya has struggled to come to the fore front of hit tracks in Nigeria.
9. Flavour - Ashawo
Flavour was seen as a highlife king back then in 2011, Ashawo was an anthem too, both Flavour and Ashawo still trends till now. Ashawo mean Prostitute.
10. Duncan Mighty - Dance for Me
Duncan Mighty, the Port harcourt first son, Back then in 2011, Dance for me ft. Nigga Raw was an anthem. Since then Duncan mighty went off the music scene and later came back on "Wizkid - Fake love" and afterwards has been trying to come up.
